I've been in a little bit of a funk lately in the since that I think I've hit a plateau. I've been feeling quite sluggish despite the consistent gym schedule I've been keeping. Don't get me wrong, the gym is definitely helping lift my mood and give me more energy it's just that I'm still feeling kinda groggy inside. You may remember that at around this time last year I did a
5 day juice cleanse (Day
1,
2,
3,
4 &
5) which overall I was happy I tried and I do think it helped in restarting my system. I've debated on jumping back on the cleanse train and doing it again, but I think I will hold off just a bit until it warms up a little with hopes that some of the produce prices will drop slightly with the seasons changing.
So to battle my cleanse desire I've decided to jump on the green smoothie train for my breakfast:
bananas, strawberries, spinach, unsweetened almond milk, protein powder and flax seed
I'm on day two of making these this week for Russ & I for our breakfast meal and it definitely does it's job at filling me up and keeping me full until lunch. I haven't been able to kick my coffee, though. I still have to have it after the smoothie!
Are you a green smoothie fan? What variations have you tried? I'm thinking some peaches would be mighty delicious as well!

I LOVE smoothies but I never make them. What's up with that?! I totally have that sluggish feeling right now too - I bet it's just the time of the year. How does Russ like the smoothies?
I love green smoothies! I hate eating kale & spinach normally so sneaking them in smoothies makes it easier to get my veggies. Celery is a surprisingly good addition.
Yum! I have a hard time finding a good breakfast that fills me up til lunch. I might have to try this.
