Weekend Recap: better late than never

What a weekend! I had every intention of getting this recap posted early this morning but for whatever reason my phone decided it didn't want to cooperate so I wasn't able to get pictures from my phone to the blog. I thought technology was supposed to be my friend?

Friday evening was low-key due to some issues that arose which kinda knocked Russ and I off our "lets enjoy this weekend" horse.  Thankfully on Saturday we did our best to wake up, shake off the night before and do our best to enjoy the weekend.  So what did we do?

Saturday morning we ran some errands where we both picked up a new pair of shoes:

I admit they make me feel like my feet are slightly identical to a platypus nose, but they are so comfortable! And pink!

In the afternoon my Mom & Larry came to help us with some projects around the house which included: helping us repair a broken part in our bedroom ceiling fan, set up the utility sink I got Russ for Christmas (no more cleaning paint brushes in the kitchen sink!), figure out my garage door is broken and fix our refrigerator.  It was so nice having their help and I must admit that while Larry & Russ worked on a majority of these projects, my Mom and I escaped and did a little antique shopping.  While we walked out of the store empty-handed, we still found a few treasures...

On Sunday Russ & I made the biggest mistake of going to Joann's on the first day of their reopening.  The old one in our city closed down several months ago due to a flood and I guess everyone was missing it as much as we were!  I was surprised to see how many people were in line - my claustrophobia kicked in and we weren't in there but for 5 minutes before I had to book it out of there.  We'll be back, just maybe one night during the week!

After coming home and recovering my Dad came over and helped us take our Christmas lights off the house (they weren't turning on, we just hadn't taken them down yet!) and we spent the remainder of the late afternoon and early evening relaxing and watching the game.

Thanks to my Mom & Larry for bringing us so much firewood on Saturday! We loved having a fire burning all day long!

Miley was less than impressed with the Superbowl...

"When I feel like exercising, I just lie down until the feeling goes away." HA! I was flipping through one of my Martha Stewart magazines and came across this and loved it.  Although it wasn't exactly the perfect motivator for the spin class I'm planning to take today after work!
