Weekend Recap: The Dinner Train

My Mom received four tickets to the Columbia Star Dinner Train as one of her Christmas presents from Larry and this weekend Russ & I got to the lucky ones going with them!  The train picks you up and leaves the station at 7PM and returns at roughly 9:30 - 9:45PM.  During the course of the ride we enjoyed a 4 course meal (which is prepared on the train) which left us full, satisfied and ready for our beds by the time the ride was over.  The train doesn't go more than 25 mph, so it's by no means a fast train, but it was definitely a smooth ride!

At first we were bummed because our table was the one of the last tables in the car (there are two sets of tables that run down the sides of the cars) but once we got to our seats we realized how happy we were that we were at the end!  They had the tables squeezed in quite tightly, so if we would have been in the middle I think we would have been slightly more cramped.  Plus the noise level would have been worse, with tables all around us.  So being at the end turned out to be a great thing!  We also noticed that if you came as just a couple, you were placed at a table with another couple - unless you paid extra to reserve the entire table to yourself (which we did see someone do).

It was definitely a unique experience - something I had never done or known was an option, so Russ & I were thankful that they let us join them!

Good thing you went with your mom and Russ...that could've been an awkward dinner for 2 and a half hours! hahahaha

Once again, you and Russ are so cute! Love that photo of you two.
